What “Factory Authorized” Actually Means
Factory authorization is a specific designation, not a marketing term. Service centers earn it on four criteria: Technician training to manufacturer specifications; OEM-specified tooling and test equipment; Rebuild procedures that match documented OEM standards, and QA documentation that meets the manufacturer’s audit requirements.
Manufacturers re-certify authorized centers on a defined cycle. A pump rebuilt at an authorized center comes out the same as a pump rebuilt at the OEM’s own facility, with documentation the customer can produce for audit, warranty, or insurance purposes.
AGI carries factory authorization on the major lines we represent. We are an authorized Flowserve service partner for centrifugal and vertical turbine work, a top-tier ARO Sales, Service & Repair Partner for over 50 years, and a CIRCOR Authorized Service Center for the IMO, Allweiler, Houttuin, and Warren positive displacement pump brands. We are also an OEM-certified repair facility for Milton Roy metering pumps and an authorized service provider for Hammelmann and Aldrich positive displacement pumps.
For pumps from manufacturers that we do not formally represent, we still complete repairs to OEM specifications using proper parts, documentation, and test procedures. Customers with mixed-brand installed bases work with us because we can cover the portfolio rather than sending individual pumps to individual OEM service centers.

Shop Service by Pump Type
Pump repair is technology-specific work. Wear components, inspection points, rebuild procedures, and test methods all differ across pump types. Our pump repair shops are organized around the pump categories AGI distributes and services.
Centrifugal pump rebuild. Complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild to OEM or API standards across API 610 process pumps, ANSI B73.1 chemical service pumps, inline process pumps, vertical turbine, submersible multistage, mixed and axial flow, self-priming, and specialty centrifugal designs. Mechanical seal replacement and seal failure analysis. Impeller work and rebalance. Bearing housing service. Shaft work and machining. Hydro-testing of completed rebuilds with documented test results.
Positive displacement pump rebuild. AOD replacement and complete rebuild. Plunger and piston pumps including packing, valve, and liner service. Gear pump overhaul and gear replacement. Screw pump rotor and stator service. Peristaltic pump hose and tube replacement. Progressive cavity rotor and stator replacement. Each PD technology has its own rebuild discipline, and our technicians are trained on each line we carry.
Chemical metering pump rebuild. Diaphragm replacement, check valve service, packing replacement on packed plunger designs, drive end inspection, and stroke calibration. Calibration certification with documented test results for installations under regulatory or process compliance requirements.
Vapor recovery and compression package service. Service and repair on vapor recovery units and compression packages, including units we built through AGI Packaged Pump Systems and units from other suppliers.
Vertical Turbine Re-Bowl
Vertical turbine pumps losing hydraulic efficiency in the bowl assembly can be restored by re-bowling: replacing the bowl assembly (impellers, diffusers, and bowl shaft) while reusing the existing column, discharge head, and motor. Through our Flowserve partnership, AGI re-bowls any brand, often at the same cost as or less than an extensive repair and with a new-pump warranty.
Mechanical Seal Service
Mechanical seal failure causes more pump downtime than any other component, and it is usually a symptom of something else: a process upset, a cooling-water problem, misalignment, or a seal mismatched to the service. AGI handles seal replacement, failure analysis, and selection upgrades, in the shop and in the field, hydro-tested and documented.
REAcT: Rotating Equipment Action Team

Field Service
Industrial customers cannot always pull a pump, ship it, wait, and reinstall it. When the pump has to stay in place, our field service teams handle the pump repair on site. Our service vehicles are outfitted for field repair with tooling, test equipment, alignment instruments, and stocked parts for the platforms our technicians see most often. Common Problems We See in the Field

Industrial pump failures are rarely random. The same root causes show up repeatedly across customers and installations.
Repeat seal failures. A pump on its third or fourth seal in twelve months has a system problem, not a seal problem. The cause is typically suction condition, alignment, vibration source elsewhere in the system, or seal specification mismatched to the actual service. Replacing the seal again does not solve it.
Bearing failures from misalignment. A pump that develops bearing problems within months of a maintenance event was usually misaligned during reinstallation. Laser alignment at every reinstallation prevents a meaningful share of bearing failures across the installed base.
Cavitation from changing system conditions. A pump that ran reliably for years and now shows cavitation damage is usually operating against a system curve that has shifted from the original selection condition: a fouled strainer, a changed line size, or a different process temperature raising fluid vapor pressure. The pump has not changed, the system has.
Pulsation damage on reciprocating installations. Reciprocating pumps generate pulsations that destroy piping and instruments if dampeners are not properly sized for the service. Installations without proper pulsation control develop chronic problems that no amount of pump maintenance will fix.
Operation off the curve. A pump installed for nameplate conditions but actually running at 40% of rated flow most of the time will recirculate, vibrate, and consume seals and bearings on an accelerated schedule. The fix is not pump replacement, it is variable-speed drive, parallel pump operation, or a smaller pump correctly sized for actual demand.
